Where We Are

Our astronomy observing nights are held in the grounds of the historic Arms of Australia Inn Museum on the corner of the Great Western Highway and Gardenia Avenue in Emu Plains. Parking and entrance to the site is off Gardenia Avenue (Google Maps link).

Built in 1826, the Inn served as the last stop for travellers heading west over the Blue Mountains on their way to Bathurst, Orange and the NSW goldfields. In 1972, The Nepean District Historical Society purchased the property from the local council and began restoring the site and turning it into a museum.

The site has a good open area for stargazing, and toilet facilities are available.
